This page explains what personal data FORRE.NU collects — on the website and in the Forre Booster and Forre Companion desktop apps — why we collect it, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

1. Who we are
FORRE.NU is a Swedish community website for Fortnite players. The service provides statistics and leaderboards, a forum, a social feed, LFG ("looking for group") and an item-shop view — all built around public Fortnite data. FORRE.NU is a web application, not a game.
The service is run as a private initiative in Sweden. The data controller for processing on forre.nu is FORRE.NU, reachable at privacy@forre.nu.

2. What data we collect
Account data — username, email address and password. Passwords are always stored hashed and cannot be read by us.
Age — your date of birth, so we can enforce the minimum age of 18. Your profile displays your age, never your date of birth.
Fortnite link — your Epic display name and Epic account ID, used to fetch public match statistics and place you on the leaderboard.
Profile — optional details: bio, avatar and links to your social accounts.
Activity — posts, comments, reactions and other interactions you make on the site.
Technical data — IP address, session data and basic client information, needed for security and abuse prevention.
3. If you sign in with Epic Games
FORRE.NU offers sign-in with Epic Games through Epic Account Services. This link is optional — you can use the site without it.
If you choose it, we receive only what you approve in Epic's own consent dialog:
your Epic account ID,
your display name,
your language,
display names of accounts you have linked yourself at Epic.
Equally important is what we do not receive:
We never see your Epic password. Sign-in happens at Epic — we only receive the answer.
We get no access to your purchases, your V-Bucks balance or your locker, and we cannot perform any action in your Epic account.
The link does not unlock hidden statistics. If you have turned off public game stats in Fortnite, they stay hidden here too.
You can unlink your Epic account at any time under Settings → Account. The link is then removed from your FORRE account.
4. The desktop apps: Forre Booster and Forre Companion
Besides the website there are two optional Windows programs: Forre Booster (which frees up system resources before a gaming session) and Forre Companion (which shows match information while you play). You need neither of them to use forre.nu, and they do nothing until you start them yourself.
What stays on your computer
Most of what the programs read never leaves the machine. That includes:
Fortnite's own log file — who is in your party, your team, the game mode and the match id.
Your replay files — the match result, read after the match has ended.
In-match game events — kill feed, health, shield, ammunition, storm and position, via Overwolf (see below).
The program's own files — logs, sound files, the overlay's position and a local cache of names and statistics already fetched.
System information — process list, memory and hardware status, which the Booster needs in order to free resources.
None of the above is sent anywhere. It is read, shown on screen and stored locally in %LOCALAPPDATA%\ForreBooster. If you want to see exactly what the program did, the log is there in plain text, and a button in the settings opens the folder.
What is sent to forre.nu
Only while you are signed in, and only this:
At sign-in — the computer's name (so you can recognise the device in your account list) and the program's version number.
Session report — when you shut down: start and end time, which game, how many processes were closed, how much memory was freed, number of kills, number of matches, average FPS and ping to the region.
Match results — placement and match statistics, for your own history and for the leaderboard.
Player name lookups — see the next paragraph.
What you write yourself — messages, LFG posts and feedback.
Other players' names
To show you who you are up against, Companion fetches public Fortnite statistics for players in your lobby. Their Epic display name or account id is then sent to forre.nu, which looks the data up and sends it back.
Only data that is already public is fetched. If someone has turned off public statistics in Fortnite, it stays hidden.
Players who play anonymously are never shown by name.
The data is used to draw the list on your screen and is cached locally so the same name does not have to be looked up again.
Overwolf
The in-match game events come from Overwolf, a third-party platform that Companion uses. Overwolf's component runs locally on your computer and reads the game's events there. We receive them inside the program; we do not forward them.
Overwolf is its own data controller for what it collects itself. Their privacy policy is at overwolf.com/legal/privacy.
What we do not do
We show no advertising in the programs and have no ad tracking.
We use no analytics platform and no third-party trackers.
We do not read your screen, your keyboard outside the program's own hotkeys, or files outside Fortnite's own log and replay folders.
We change nothing inside the game and do not connect to Epic accounts on your behalf.
If you want to stop
Uninstall the program and all collection ends. If you also want what has already been sent removed, the same rights apply as for the rest of the service — see Your rights. You can delete the %LOCALAPPDATA%\ForreBooster folder yourself at any time.
5. Why we process the data
We process data to deliver the site's features, keep accounts secure and prevent abuse.
Legal basis: performance of a contract (providing the service you signed up for), legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention, operations) and, in some cases, consent — for example when you choose to link your Epic account.
6. Cookies and sessions
FORRE.NU uses a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against forged requests. If you choose "remember me", a long-lived sign-in cookie is stored as well. Cookies are not used for advertising profiles.
7. Who the data is shared with
We do not sell personal data and do not disclose it for marketing. Data is processed by the providers required to operate the service:
Web hosting — servers within the EU, where the site and database run.
Epic Games — if you sign in with Epic, or when your Epic name is used to fetch public match statistics.
Email delivery — for account confirmation and password resets.
Content you publish yourself — posts, comments, profile text, avatar and your leaderboard position — is visible to other visitors.
8. Storage and deletion
Data is stored on servers with restricted access.
Inactive accounts may be anonymised under internal policy.
On a deletion request we remove your personal data within a reasonable processing time.
You can delete your account yourself under Settings. Account, profile, posts and links are then deleted together.
9. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to:
know what data we process about you and receive a copy of it,
have inaccurate data corrected,
have your data erased,
restrict or object to the processing,
receive your data in a machine-readable format,
withdraw a consent you have given, such as the Epic link.
Write to privacy@forre.nu and we will handle your request. If you are unhappy with how we process your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
10. Minimum age
FORRE.NU is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we delete the account and the associated data.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the date at the top changes. For material changes we also announce it on the site.
